The British Educational Leadership Management and Administration Society Conference 2017 (#BELMAS2017) will be held from the 7-9th July 2017 at Ettington Chase near Stratford on Avon.
The 2017 theme is:
“Educational leadership for a global society: challenges, dilemmas and ways forward.”
Message from the Conference Chair:
The conference team are looking forward to welcoming you to our annual conference in historic Stratford-on-Avon. It is a venue we have used before, and the feedback was excellent. It is also near many historic places and lovely scenery if you are one of our international members who might want to extend their time in the UK. Each conference has a theme, and we hope that there will be a truly global focus this year in all the events, workshops and papers. In particular, we would like to encourage BELMAS members who have never been to conference before to come along. We look forward to greeting old and new friends in Warwickshire next July. Keep an eye on the site, as speakers and events unfold.

‘Educational leadership for a global society: challenges, dilemmas and ways forward’
Global relations and forces form an evolving context with which local, alternative and national educational cultures and philosophies interact. This year’s theme invites contributions that address issues facing educational leadership in this context – both its challenges and dilemmas and its opportunities. For example: What does it mean to practice educational leadership with the aim of working for a global society? Is it a meaningful educational aim? What are the leadership implications of globalisation and its consequences for social justice, learning, educators’ professional identity and the place of local, alternative and national educational cultures? Contributions from diverse theoretical, methodological and cultural perspectives are encouraged.
All abstracts are subjected to anonymous peer review and will be selected solely on quality. Authors will be notified whether their papers have been accepted into the programme in February 2017. For all papers accepted into the programme, it will be assumed that the presenter(s) will attend the full conference and the Conference Team reserves the right to schedule presentations accordingly. Presenters will be required to register by 30th April 2017. From this date, papers will be withdrawn from the programme where presenters have not registered.
Please note the full programme is subject to change.
